School Shooting in Maryland

Today was the first day back to school for many students around the country, however not many of them had the same experience as a Perry Hall High School in Baltimore, MD. Around 10:45 this morning, a 15-year-old male student walked into the Cafeteria of the high school and shot a a round from his gun. Quick acting faculty managed to grab him just as he let off a second round, but held him down to prevent further shots from being fired.

Unfortunately the gunman managed to shoot a 17-year-old student allegedly in the back. Though the student survived, he was Medflighted to the University of Maryland's Shock Trauma Center.

Many students who were interviewed had no idea what was going on at the time, stating they thought the sound was a door slamming or bag popping, but after the second shot most began to panic and run from the school, while others were locked in classrooms. Many students ran to a near-by shopping center where parents later met them with relief at finding their children uninjured.
