High School Theater Program Targets Bullying

Students at Forest Grove High School in Oregon work on an original play that deals with bullying in schools. “Marked” features students with and without disabilities that is aimed to show the pain bullying can cause and ways bystanders can help stop it. Theater director, John Anderberg, wrote “Marked” based on personally witnessed accounts of bullying and other national bullying cases themed on special needs victims. Bullying is a serious problem that adds even more issues to the already troubling life of students with disabilities. School events that can entertain as well as educated have proven to be effective ways of spreading knowledge on important issues and should be available to every student nationwide.
