High school senior, James Villalobos is awarded $1,500 for
spreading bullying awareness in his school. Villalobos attended the third
annual anti-bullying scholarship gala funded by The Republican’s
Newspaper-in-Education program hosted in honor of two students lost to suicide
due to bullying. The gala awards those who have made strides in the fight
against bullying with money to help further their efforts and aid their
education expenses. More than ever, sponsorships like this have been springing up
across the country and have gained a significant amount of support for bullying
victims and against bullies. We can all learn that standing up against bullying
not only benefits victims, but can also benefit yourself.
