Young students from Lincoln Elementary School in Ardmore,
Oklahoma, are using the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program to address this
issue of bullying in the school system.
The program, referred to as OBPP for
short, is described as “a comprehensive, multilevel, schoolwide program
designed to reduce and prevent bullying among students.” The City of Ardmore,
where the school is located, embraced the effort, declaring the week as
“Bullying Prevention Week.” The program also includes all of the school faculty
and staff, from teachers and administration to bus-drivers and cafeteria
workers.
