The mother of Rebecca Sedwick, the Florida teen who
committed suicide as a result of bullying, is suing the Polk County School
Board for funeral expenses and emotional damages, claiming the School Board did
not do enough to protect her daughter from classmates who allegedly stalked and
bullied the teen.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told CBS News the classmates
of Sedwick “intimidated” and “harassed” her, while the lawsuit alleges the
School Board did not properly supervise the students or succeed to provide an
educational environment that was safe and secure from such abusive behavior.
