Belton Middle School in Kansas City has
introduced a new way to expose bullies with discretion, and from the comfort of
your own home.
The service is called Sprigeo, and the
institution believes they can reduce the amount of bullies in the school by
using it, since it meets students on their own digital turf.
Students who access the site are asked
to click on drop-down boxes to identify locations, such as bathrooms,
cafeteria, bus stops and other places around the school where they’ve witnessed
an act of bullying.
Over 1,000 school districts in 27
states now subscribe to Sprigeo, said Joe Bruzzese, a former educator who
established the site. He also stated that: “Traditional reporting about
bullying has always involved a three-page report that you fill out while
everyone else stand around and watches.
