How a School’s Climate Effects Bullying

Creating a positive relationship between students and teachers promotes a safe and comfortable environment for students. When teachers show negative attitudes towards disrespectful behavior, it creates a positive school climate where everyone is kind to each other.
Staff can maintain a positive climate by modeling acceptable behavior, as well as modeling empathy. Although many school focus on spreading awareness and knowledge of bullying, modeling positive behaviors can have a greater impact. Developing a healthy school climate can show students how to act towards peers and curb bullying.
