Two colleges out of New Jersey, Rutgers University and the College of Saint Elizabeth are taking initiative to combat bullying by their new training program aimed at teachers.
The program is called the Social-Emotion Learning and educates teachers on ways they can encourage their students to not only make better decisions for themselves, but to recognize issues in their peers. "The online training will include preventing harassment, intimidation, substance abuse, and suicide." The program comes if the result of a $600,00 grant from the NoVo Foundations, which also funded the program design.
