“Wicked,” the Broadway hit that has been a fan favorite for years, is using its storyline to highlight the issue of bullying in our society, specifically in the school system.
The popular musical has partnered up with BullBust, which is a national anti-bullying campaign backed by the National School Climate Center. One of the lead actresses in the musical is speaking out against bullying and advocating for the program BullBust is promoting. Jennifer DiNoia plays the role of Elphaba, a trouble character who experiences judgement and bullying herself for being different. DiNoia has been involved with multiple efforts by BullBust to reach out to young students and discuss the issue of bullying in their lives.
