“Wicked,” the Broadway hit that has been a fan favorite for
years, is using its storyline to highlight the issue of bullying in our
society, specifically in the school system.
The popular musical has partnered
up with BullBust, which is a national anti-bullying campaign backed by the
National School Climate Center. One of the lead actresses in the musical is
speaking out against bullying and advocating for the program BullBust is
promoting. Jennifer DiNoia plays the role of Elphaba, a trouble character who
experiences judgement and bullying herself for being different. DiNoia has been
involved with multiple efforts by BullBust to reach out to young students and
discuss the issue of bullying in their lives.
