Dariana Dogan made a difference in
one of her classmate’s days by standing up to her bullies. The hero noticed
some older kids bothering one of her classmates last year, so she stood up to them
and told them to knock it off.
This was possible because young
Dogan has received some special training on how to deal with a confrontation,
such as that of a bully approaching you. She couldn’t have found a better time
to put everything she learned into action.
Training is beneficial for kids to
know and as of now, Dogan is among 37 students at Lincoln Elementary, who are
learning to recognize and address bullying, both in and outside of school.
The school says they hope the
training will empower students to address the bullying they encounter, but the
training also aims to boost students’ self-esteem.
