After introducing the anti-bullying
voice line two years ago, Boston Public Schools has added a text-message
feature for bullied victims. The text-message feature is an added component to
encourage students to feel comfortable reporting their problems to people who
can help.
The text-message idea is also an easier tool for students who may have trouble communicating in English. Victims are encouraged to text the hotline, where it will respond with questions and then proceed to forward the messages to administrators. All of the elements of the bullying hotline are taking strides towards saving youth’s lives against bullying.
