Tray Chaney, known for playing the character Poot from “The Wire”, recently released a song and music Video called “Mike Bully”.  The song is about a student who stands up against bullying and has been growing in popularity among students as well as school administrators.

Parents Accuses Football Team of Bullying Due to High Score


An anonymous parent in Texas is accusing the Aledo High School football team of bullying after his son’s football team lost the game 91-0.  Despite the Aledo coach’s best efforts to lessen the blow, by switching out the first string players and having them not play as aggressively as usual, the score kept getting higher and higher.

Tennessee Collects Reports Data on Bullying for 2012


After two students were buillied into committing suicide in Tennessee in 2011, state officials have cracked down on in and out of school bullying across the state.  Part of this effort was to collect data on the number of statewide bullying cases in 2012 and the numbers were reported last week.

District officials are still investigating the school shooting that took place before classes began on Monday October 25th.  They are currently looking into a bullying prevention video that was recently shown to students in the school district that had a scene involving a student wielding a gun.

A recent survey shows that rather than parents worrying about their child doing drugs, they are more concerned with their child being bullied. The survey revealed that the children are most worried about making the right friends in the transition to the secondary school.

The study “Impact of Bullying in Childhood on Adult Health, Wealth, Crime and Social Outcomes” published this year in the journal Psychological Science found a correlation for those who bully others and those who were bullied with financial hardship, health problems, criminal activity, and other social problems.

Two Teens Arrested in Connection with Classmate’s Suicide


Two teen girls in Florida have been arrested for allegedly bullying a 12-year-old girl who jumped from a cement factory tower to her death last month. Rebecca Sedwick, of Lakeland Florida, was bullied by over a dozen girls who viciously picked on her via the Internet and through text messages.
