A group of mind-boggling bullying facts and statistics have been gathered in loo of October being National Bullying Prevention Month. As the Internet continues to evolve, victims are more accessible by bullies. 
Student suicide rates have been on the rise, bringing attention to bullying to schools around the nation. Sources such as the National Education Association, PACER Center, and Make Beats Not Beatdowns provided us with these shocking statistics and facts.
  • 83% of girls and 79% of boys report encountering some type of harassment.
  • On a daily basis, 6 out of 10 teenagers say they witness bullying.
  • One in three American schoolchildren are affected by bullying in grades 6-10.
  • 160,000 children miss school every day due to the fear of being bullied.
  • With the rise of social media, 35% of children have been threatened online.
The side effects of bullying can be daunting to children who are victims. They experience unbearable stress, physical sickness, and a decrease in ability to learn.
