Bill for Anti-Cyber Bullying Laws in Kentucky Shut Down by House Committee


With 2 votes shy of passing, the House Bill 473, which would establish plans to address cyberbullying in Kentucky schools, has been rejected. The Bill was aimed to deal with the advancements in technology and how it affects cyberbullying in schools, with tools and training to combat the issues.

Court Ruling Opens Doors for Schools to Sue Students Who Bully


A New Jersey school district is being allowed the right to file a suit against students who harass or bully their peers. A Superior Court judge has ruled in the school district’s favor, meaning that parents may be legally responsible for their children’s bullying or harassing behavior.

A restraining order has been filed against an unidentified 9-year-old boy after he allegedly bullied a fellow student. That student’s father, Stephan Feuder, is fighting for school and legal action after his son was allegedly physically bullied one school grounds.

In 2008, BU Coach Kelly Greenberg was criticized for potential bullying as the result of two scholarship players quit her team based on allegations of poor treatment. This academic year, Greenberg, 46, is again under fire and now investigation for alleged bullying after additional player have made similar accusations.

A South Carolina school district has blocked a new app, called Yik Yak, from its servers in an attempt to lessen the cyberbullying epidemic. The app allows users to post anonymously in a chat room style format, which has led to bullying of students.

Anti-Bullying Grades Assess How Well NJ Schools are Addressing New Programs


After the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act was adopted in 2011, New Jersey schools have had to create and implement programs to deal with bullying among students. In March, all of these schools will be required to submit a 20-page self-assessment to be graded on a scale from 0 to 75 with 75 being a perfect score.
