Woodlands Middle/High School will be hosting a free
workshop to parents with guest speaker John Halligan. The workshop, “Bullying,
Cyberbullying, and Youth Depression” will feature a presentation from Halligan
on how to deal with these issues.
Halligan’s 13-year-old son Ryan committed
suicide as the result of bullying both in school and online. His presentation
will give parents insight into how to recognize the negative effects of
bullying as well as how to address it before it is too late. School officials
who set up the program hope to empower parents to be active participants in
aiding to prevent bullying in their schools.
